AboutThe Pineville Ice House Turkey Cup has been an annual youth hockey tournament that takes place over Thanksgiving break since 2010.  The Turkey Cup offers a fun and competitive environment for Youth League level players.
Skill Level
  • The Turkey Cup is for in house Pineville Youth Hockey League (PYHL) and Travel B players.
  • Registrations from higher level players are subject to approval by the Tournament Director.
  • Please inquire before registering if you are uncertain of your player's eligibility.
  • A player is eligible to score a maximum of three goals per game. Additional goals will be treated as a save by the goalie, and a face off will occur. There is no limit on assists.  In the event of a Championship or Consolation game shootout, a player with three goals scored in regulation is eligible to score one - and only one - additional goal.
  • Major Birth Years: 2007-2010
  • Minor Birth Years: 2011-2014
  • Four teams per division.
  • Max ten skaters and one goalie per team.
  • Players assigned to teams by Tournament Staff after close of registration.

Five Games: Three Round Robin + Semifinal + Final or Consolation

Dates & Times

  • Registration is open to outside participants.  Outside registrations are subject to approval by the Tournament Director.
  • All players must register by November 22.
  • Only 80 skater and 8 goalie spots are available.  Registration may close early if teams fill.

Game Jerseys
  • Tournament Jerseys will be provided.  Players may keep their jersey as a souvenir.
Game Format
  • Games will be 4 on 4 half ice.
Game Clock
  • Two twelve minute halves.
  • One minute warmup before each game.
  • One minute break between periods.
  • All penalties result in a penalty shot for the player that drew the penalty.
  • Game clock continues to run during a penalty shot.
  • Players do not serve time in the penalty box.
  • Players may be ejected from the game or tournament for reckless play or inappropriate conduct.

Tournament Points &

Final Round Seeding

  • Two points for winning a game.
  • One point for a tie game.
  • Semifinal games: 1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd. 
  • Semifinal game winners play in the Championship and losers play in the Consolation.
  • In the event of a points tie, head to head results during Round Robin play will determine seeding and then fewest goals against followed by scoring difference.




  • Round Robin Games
    • No Overtime period, ties are allowed.
  • Championship and Semifinal Games
    • Three player, alternating shootout.
    • If necessary, single player, alternating shootout.
