Southern Stars
Synchronized Skating
The Southern Stars Synchronized Skating Team skates under
the leadership of Head Coach Diana Dandro at the Pineville Ice House.
Coach Dandro skated with the Miami University RedHawk Synchronized Skating
Team which has won 12 National Titles and claimed multiple top ten World
finishes. She grew up in Lake Placid, New York skating for the Rainbow
Connection and Northern Stars figure skating clubs. Ms. Dandro skated
competitively for 15 years, and she has coached teams at the beginner,
pre-juvenile and Masters adult level and has taken an adult
masters team to Nationals.
There are approximately 525 synchronized teams registered with U.S. Figure
Skating, and nearly 5,000 athletes participate annually in the Synchronized
Skating Sectional Championships. The Southern Stars will field a team at the
Beginner level in the 2011-2012 season.
Teams will practice weekly and compete in three to four competitions
and two to three exhibitions.

SOUTHERN STARS 2011-2012 SYNCHRONIZED SKATING TEAMS
The season runs from August 13 - January 31
Teams will compete at three to five local and regional
competitions and will perform in winter and spring shows.
BEGINNER TEAM
Skaters must have completed Basic 5
Practices are Saturdays from 9:30-11:50 AM
Our program is in its second season under the direction of Coach Diana Dandro. Coach Diana founded the Southern Stars at Pineville in 2010.
She has taught Synchronized Skating for six years, won National titles and medals while skating for the Miami University Varsity Collegiate Team, and has 20 years of Synchro Experience.
